Great skirt pattern and tutorial, reminds me very much of the denim ones at American Apparel. I love this pattern, and the end result looks great.

This vintage inspired swimwear is adorable and easy to make, but the best part is that the patterns can be printed from home off of your printer! Before BurdaStyle went all 'holier than thou', and basically sold out to consumerism (A big no-no in the handmade nation preservation), they used to be an amazing site that offered so many patterns for just about everything imaginable. They had a huge online following, HUGE. Users would contribute patterns, tutorials and sewing tricks, and even the stylists and designers who ran the website would contribute. I miss their weekly mailers, and the great community that they had built. It was basically a goldmine for fashion students, sewing nerds, and designers alike.
That is until they completely changed the website, and it basically became a pattern 'store', where they sell individuals patterns for money. So much for Share, Remix, Reuse. 
Anyways, I still have a bunch of their patterns before they sold their souls, and I would like nothing more than to share them with you. It's the fASHLIN way of thinking.
